The Netherlands tour was a great success, the band can't wait to tour EU again, maybe hit the UK and Italy next time! HYF was performing on the big stage at the Queensday festival when an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate the Queen played out (as seen on CNN) that pulled the plug on all Queensday events. They were lucky they got to play for the huge crowd, an hour later slot and no one would have heard the free show! Hundred Year Flood performed in the studio a song by PUBLIC ENEMY band leader BRIAN HARDGROOVE that is included on a compilation album made by BOOTSY COLLINS for the troops. A portion was taped for a special show that will air on BET network later this year....HUNDRED YEAR FLOOD on BET!!! go get cable! POISON picked up for tour/distribution in the Netherlands by LUCKY DICE. HUNDRED YEAR FLOOD will tour the Netherlands in April/May 09. CATCH THEM LIVE IF YOU CAN! A powerhouse quartet, HUNDRED YEAR FLOOD splits the seams of Rock n Roll with their high octane vocals, balls to the wall rhythm and bleeding heart melodies. They deliver their original tunes with gut-wrenching honesty and energetic passion. If you haven’t seen this amazing band live, you must! From the minute Hundred Year Flood hits the stage, you know you are in the presence of a un-bridled force of nature that you won’t ever forget. They spent this summer recording their upcoming album with Jamie Cohen, who brought in legendary bluesman, TAJ MAHAL to add his magic touch to the title track, "Hell or High Water". Soulful songstress, Shannon McNally, also joins the band for the stirring and unforgettable, "Neck of the Woods". POISON will prove to be their most rockin’ album yet. During an interview on Austin radio station, KGSR, Charlie Sexton said Hundred Year Flood was one of his favorite bands. They have shared stages with Charlie Sexton, Son Volt, Joe Ely, Dave Alvin, Nanci Griffith, Mary Gauthier, James McMurtry, George Clinton, Ozomotli, Patrice Pike, Blue Mountain and many more. Go see them live! Hundred Year Flood will be your next favorite band!! Hundred Year Flood is currently based out of both the artist mecca of Santa Fe, NM; and the live music capital of the world, Austin, TX. They have played all over the western U.S., and have even toured in Mexico. Hundred Year Flood has opened for both Son Volt and James McMurtry to packed and sold out theatres, and during SXSW 06 they played an amazing 9 gigs in six days. The members are Felecia Ford (voice and keys), Bill Palmer (guitar and voice), Jim Palmer (drums) and Kendra Lauman (bass). They play southern-fried roots rock that ranges from beautiful folk-rock ballads to gritty, politically saavy country punk; from stark darkness to a frenzied twang. Felecia Ford is a West Texas master of voice, who cut her teeth on Broadway show tunes and the big production theatrical stage, as well as the underground roots scene of Austin. Bill Palmer's songwriting and guitar playing is as steeped in shoegazer Brit-pop as it is in Texas country tradition and folk poetry. Bill's younger brother, Jim Palmer is powerful and nimble simultaneously with his unique drum style, inspired by African pop and American rock. Kendra Lauman roots the music to the ground with her thoughtful and solid bass approach. The band currently has five albums under it's belt: 2000's self-titled release, 2003's critically acclaimed "Flutterstrut", 2004's "Cavalier" and 2006's buzz album "BLUE ANGEL", their fifth album was released November 1st 2008 entitled "Poison" out now on Frogville Records.
