Maxwell Jonas Pelta
10/7/86 - 1/6/06
Max Pelta passed away on January 6, 2006. He was just 19 years old. Max was such a beautiful, beloved, and troubled soul. He was a brilliant songwriter, singer, poet, musician, and wonderfully funny. He was getting on a stronger path when his passing occurred, and showing great refinement
in his art. He had been living in a sober living house for the past 6 weeks but had a momentary relapse. He had been fighting a lingering respiratory infection and the combination of the two cost him his life.
Max is deeply loved by his family, and touched many people with the emotional depth of his spirit and music, though his life was so brief.
Please send lots of love to him and his family.
MAX PELTA, YOU ARE MISSED!
There will be a memorial service in Oakland, CA on Thursday, 1/12/06 at 3 pm. Max had great compassion for homeless and downtrodden folks. Please do something kind for someone in need with Max's spirit in mind.
Deepest appreciation and thanks for the great kindness and support from our friends and family.

Max Pelta marked a new chapter in the Frogville story. Most of Frogville's acts are tried and true veterans, but with Max we have a young genius just starting out. The raw beauty of Max's art enchanted all of us while he was visiting the studio. He wrote and recorded several songs during his visit and based on those tracks we immediately invited him to make a record with us.
That session never happened but we are compiling all known
recordings Max did and would love to put together a retrospective memorial album someday soon, until then, enjoy the demo tracks on this page.
